Hazen Union School Board Meeting

Attendance: Johanna Laggis, Jamon Renaud, Jim Lovinsky, David Ford, Monty Shatney, Hannah Bellavance, Elaine Laine, Patrick Flood, and Ed Karp.

Guest: Marvin Pritchard

1. Chairman Lovinsky called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm

2. Monty moved to approve the agenda, Hannah seconded.

3. Monty moved to approve the minutes of November 27, 2007 with the addition of Jamon Renaud’s name to the list of those in attendance, Jamon seconded.

4. Ends monitoring: The mathematics program results were presented by Marvin Pritchard.

5. Policy monitoring and evaluation discussion:

EL 8 communication and support of the Board

EL 11 focus of grants and contracts

Evaluation forms were filled out and handed in by the Board.

6. Hazen won a bronze medal in the U.S. News and World Report’s listing of America’s Best Schools.

The scheduling of the alumni linkage meeting was discussed. It was originally tentatively scheduled for January 28, but it was mentioned that most college students are back in school then. Since the carousel meeting scheduled for January 8 is going to be rescheduled for March, the Board will again be scheduled to meet January 14. The alumni meeting might be able to be scheduled for that night.

7. Monty moved to adjourn at 7:26 pm, Patrick seconded.
