This syrup is made from the first run of the season.  Folks from outside Vermont pay a pretty penny for this stuff, even though it barely tastes like maple. 

This is what you're used to.  It beats the pants off of Golden Griddle or that Mrs. Who's-A-Whatsit.  One taste of the real thing and you'll never go back.

Real maple syrup lovers love Dark syrup.  Odds are Uncle Eddy made this batch.  He probably fell asleep out in the Sugar House and the next thing you knew, we had dark syrup.

This is what happens when your older brother goes study abroad in Costa Rica.  The next thing you know he's slipping hot peppers into everything, even the syrup.  There's no denying it tastes great on scrambled eggs.
